Now the website says April 2010! Was Microsoft not done or is AT&T/Samsung just dragging their heals in releasing it? Of course if they are holding it until it is bug free that is fine by me. I would rather get it at some later date and be bug free than to get it now.

Woah woah woah guys! Let’s not get too excited about the published February date on the site. It seems like Microsoft has been publishing dates initially only to change them to a later date later on. At the time I am writing this, this, the HTC Omnia still says December 2009, that’s less than 48 hours left to go. I’ll keep my fingers crossed to hopefully see something by February 28th, 2010 but I’m not going to lose any sleep in anticipation.

I hope it’s early Feb rather than late Feb. I’ve already decided I’m getting an HTC HD2 (breaking contract with AT&T about 6 months early) as soon as it releases on T-Mobile. I hope I get at least 1 month to use 6.5 on my Epix before that.

Until then, dare I hope that the new ROM will be more performant, fix the GPS lock delay and battery drain issue, and stop that infernal on-screen keyboard from popping up..

As of today (12/29) Microsoft has put in an upgrade date of Feb. 2010 for the Epix per the website. Longer than expected, but hopefully it’s worth the wait.
