I've had my Epix for a little over a week now and and about 3 times I've had problems waking up the phone. I had to take to battery out to get it going again. Any ideas or solutions?
Thanks.

Ok I just got my epix today and I've just experienced this a few times too! I totally freaked out because I knew the battery was fully charged but it wouldn't turn back on and when I plugged it back in the little red light didn't come on either. Finally I popped the batt out/in and it came back up. I've disabled the “turn device off after x min” for now because I don't want to have to take the battery out every time.

I had this problem as well when I first got the Epix, however after a while it just went away by itself. It's only happened to me maybe once or twice in the last few months. (Still annoying, but much better than before.)

JD – I had a similar experience… It used to happen all the time, but now it only happens every 2 weeks or so. still quite irritating.

Welcome to the lovely world of the Samsung Epix. I have had mine for about 8 months, and the “phantom turn-off” feature has been prevelent the entire time I've owned it. I also see similar behavior when it's on the charger. A little more than once a week I'll take my Epix off the charger in the morning, the red light in the upper right of the phone will be solid red, and the phone won't turn on. The only fix is battery removal/re-insertion. This phone has promise, but the buggy hassles like this “phantom turn-off” and at least a dozen other major annoyances I won't bother listing here make me regret buying this phone.
I thought Samsung was supposed to release some sort of “major patch” maintenance release recently. Did that ever happen? When can we expect a hacked ROM of Windows Mobile 6.5? That also will possibly fix some of these issues, which would be ah-nice.

Correct, no resolution/solution. After 8 frustrating months with my Epix I can tell you that there are major annoyances you apparently have to live with because Samsung (as well as all other interested parties) have no interest in fixing the issues.

You need to install the ID1 update. Most people are reporting that this does fix this issue.
