Ok this is the way I did it.
Programs > Applications > File Explorer
Locate the file of the sound you want (where ever you saved it), click and hold file and click cut. Then, on File Explorer go to My Device. Click on the Windows folder and paste the file in that folder.
Now go where you choose the tone for text messages.
Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications > Event: > Messaging: New text message
Scroll though the sounds and you should find your tone in there.

To do this @ your computer while your sync'd, just double click my mobile device, then tools>folder options the the view tab. Under hidden files and folders, select the radio box that says “Show hidden files and folders”
You'll now be able to access your “Windows” folder in your Epix on your Desktop.
It makes renaming, dragging and dropping alot easier.
(Mine is the sound in Legend of Zelda whenever you found a secret)

Okay.. i downloaded a sms tone for my txt msges.. it downloaded perfectly.. its just that my ringtone that i downloaded is in my incoming call list..how do i put it in my text list??? Please someone Help!! Thanx!!

you just need to put the sms tone in your sounds folder and then go to settings>sounds and notifacations, check the sound for notifacations box and then go to notifacations and go down to incoming text message then pick your tone:)

I have tried this with several different tones that I would like to use for text messages and they do not show in the list when I go to assign a sound for text messages, however they are showing in the sounds folder. I did this many times with the Blackjack II and had no trouble – I must be missing something here. Any advice?
