Qwerty Keyboard Issue (please help)

  On my samsung epix, whenever i press any button on the qwerty keyboard it opens the Phone application, displaying the touch screen keypad.

    Has anyone had this problem or know how to fix it..  I can't use the qwerty keyboard to text and it is driving me insane.


I have already tried a hard reset, and it did not work.  I have never dropped this phone or anything.

Does this happen whenever you press a key while in text mode?  or anytime you press a key?  while in text mode go to the touch screen keypad options and fiddle around with that.  Hope it works, never heard of anything weird like this happening except when i'm using opera.

When i press any key on the keyboard (qwerty, aka the physical buttons on the phone) it opens the phone application.  


Ie:  i press the letter “n”on the qwerty key pad (I am not talking about touchscreen, only the physical buttons) …phone application mentioned above opens.


Perhaps I have turned off the qwerty keyboard by mistake?   Can anyone help me?
