The Epix manual says:

When you lock your phone, it requires a password to return to normal operation. When a password is set up, the phone can be locked immediately or configured to lock after a specified period of inactivity, or when the screen blanks out.


It also says:

Manually Locking the Phone

This process acts to temporarily lock the phone without the need to enter a password.


I actually have a need for a manual lock feature which engages the password. From testing out the Epix, however, it seems there is no way to accomplish this. I currently own the BlackJack II, and am trying out the Epix. The BlackJack II had a manual password lock, so I'm fairly surprised that this feature is missing in the Epix.


Does anyone know of an app that will simply engage the password lock manually? Or is there any word from Samsung/AT&T on this missing functionality?

Well, in case anyone else faces this, the best I've found so far is Pocket Toolman 2:

It only allows a manual PIN lock (no alphanumeric), but seems to work just fine.
