I've been a very happy owner of epix for 1 week now, but today I found one issue that actually bothers me a lot. I want to mention here that this is not a low volume incoming ring issue.

When somebody is calling me my epix starts to ring after 5 seconds since the caller hears the first signal tone on their phone. Because of that I frequently can't make it to answer the phone call. I couldn't find on internet anybody else having the same problem.

I wouldn't found out about this if my friend didn't tell me that it strangely takes me a long time to answer the phone.

Does anybody has the same problem here?

I have the same problem, if i call my cell from a landline, i will hear 2 rings before my cell starts to ring.  i also miss a lot of calls because people hang up after the 4th ring or so, only the 2nd ring on my phone.

ConfusedUnfortunately, I have the same, I have contacted Samsung about the issue and there is NO resolution for this. It is in the programing of the phone. I have extended the ring time and volume to counter-act this missed call issues.

THE PATCH IS NOW AVAILABLE ON THE HOME PAGE OF http://www.mysamsungepix.com

twodrpsi,

Are you referring to the “nonescalating ring” fix?

For me, the nonescalating ring fix only fixes, well, the nonescalating ring.  Even with that fix installed (and it is the best thing to happen since the clean startup/shutdown fix), my phone rings on my side (not caller's side) usually twice, occasionally three times, sometimes only once, before sending the call to voice mail.  It's pretty much impossible to get to it in that timeframe unless I have it in my hand.  Caller gets many more rings on their side.

I have been on the phone with many, many people from AT&T, and they tell me it's because there are 5 degraded towers in my area.  (Well, go fix 'em!)

However, I didn't used to have this problem.  I bought the phone in Nov, and everything was fine until about two months ago.  Now, I can't answer any incoming calls.

Here's the best part: IT DOESN'T HAPPEN WHEN I USE SOMEONE ELSE'S SIM CARD.

Anyone else (still) having this problem?

FYI, when I changed from paying my own bill to having the major corporation I work for pay the bill directly, something was set up on my account (I hope not intentionally) that prevented me from being able to truly change this setting.  It always looked like it was set the way I wanted it to be (30 seconds), and everything AT&T looked at and set was “30 seconds,” but it never actually gave me 30 seconds.  There was one really helpful guy at AT&T I finally got to who had run into this issue before with my company and was able to fix it; he had to get approval from the AT&T rep for my company before he could change it.

Now my Epix functions as a telephone (even allowing me to pick up a call!!)  I'm soooo happy!!!!
