actually there is, but for that you may have to download the RESCO FILE EXPLORER as a demo-version (i think it runs for 7 days) if you want it the easy way, or you have to hack yourself through the WindowsMobile Registry (not recommended). and make changes to the appropiate file extension in the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT section and in the appropiate Player's registry parts which are generally in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TCPMP if i recall right. The issue is that you have to keep the modular cross-linking consistency in check when going through the registry – again NOT RECOMMENDED

In the Resco Explorer you select the file w. the extension you want to be newly associated with, tap-hold it to context menu and select OPEN then OPEN WITH choose your desired program and checkmark “Always use the program to open this file type“

another way is to use the FILE – OPEN FILE menu dialog in TCPMP

I'm not even sure if TCPMP is equipped to handle MMS/HTTP or RTSP streams. You may try it by entering the URL directly into the OPEN FILE address-command line.

I know though that TCPMP's commercial successor COREPLAYER does internet-based video/audio-streams natively.
