Downloading ringtones and making it as a text tone, please help..

Hi, my problem is when I download a ring tone which is a sms text tone, it goes to my ringtones. All I want to do is change my text tone to a song type, but I dont know how to do it. This is my second epix, my first one was replaced. I had my first epix for a year and there was a way to make a ringtone as a text tone as long as it was short, but its been awhile and i forgot how to do it. Anyone with this knowledge please help me out, thanks.

I found out that if you move the text-tone file to 'my documents' instead of keeping it in the 'my ringtones' file you will be able to access it when you go to select text tones in your text messaging options.
