Sometimes I feel my phone is slow, like it needs to have de-frag ran. i delete all my old texts and turn it off and on again, is there more I can do to clean it up and make it any faster?

The most effective thing you can do is a hard reset, however you probably don't want to go that far. (Erases everything, making your phone as it was when you bought it).  Another thing you can try is removing all the programs you have installed that you don't use.  I recommend installing (yes I see the irony…) TMS UnIstaller; this program is much better than the remover that comes with WinMo.
