Hi All,
I use my Epix for work. When I'm writing down what I've done for the day, it's very handy to have a list of my call history. I found a free little app that exports it: http://www.freewarepocketpc.ne…..xport.html.
The export is to \callhistory.tsv (tab separated value) — the extension doesn't show up on my phone, of course (that would make too much sense….). There does not seem to be a way to associate .tsv with Excel on the phone, so to see what's in the file, I have to get it onto my computer (which is where I want it, anyway, frankly).
I can set up a connection through ActiveSync, go into Explorer, and copy the file from my phone to my computer. This is a functional solution, but it's more work than should be necessary.
What I'd like to do is copy it to the folder I have set up for sync-ing files and let ActiveSync take care of it. But no matter what I do, I can not seem to get ActiveSync to recognize the file and transfer it.
Any ideas why I can't simply copy this file to the sync folder to get it to my computer? Is there somewhere I have to set something up to recognize that I want ActiveSync to transfer that file, or that type of file?
If anyone feels like creating an app that works, I have a few simple suggestions that would improve the product…. (1) add column names; (2) separate date and time fields; (3) use a format for date and time that Excel recognizes (so I don't have to use datevalue and timevalue functions to be able to play with the data); (4) make the location to which the file is saved an option that can be changed. (If I had the time, I would try to write it myself, but I don't. :\ )
TIA….
