Hello,
My contract will be ended so i am thinking to get either epix or bold.
I have tried and read reviews but these are not clear to me.
1. Ringer is too low? Some users have stated that hard to hear even though its maximized. There is a setting to increase and decrease ringer but looks like it is still low.
2. Have to remove a battery? A device suddenly freeze and there is no way to un-freeze so an user has to remove a battery?
I know Epix is a great phone that's why i am debating between these two, however, its hard for me to get answers.
Also, if you go to Amazone, i have to purchase a data plan ($30) in order to get a contract, however, if i go to att.com, i do not need to have data plan. Does Amazon get some commission from providing cheaper phone than att.com website?
Thank you for your considerations.

Jin,
As far as I know , unless your good with words you'll have to get a data plan no matter what. Or at least use their “pay per use” and then just use wifi everywhere you go. But either way no matte what pda phone you get you'll have to have some type of access to data in order to purchase and use these particular type phones.
But i could be wrong if i am sorry..

Jin,
1. Ringer is set to ascending, it is a feature by Samsung, can't be changed.
2. Not really, you can press the power button for a few second and it will shutdown.
Depends, do you like Windows mobile?

Data plan is little pricy, that's why i want to get a phone with Wi-Fi feature.
I went to att.com and put epix and a new plan into cart but i wasn't required to purchase a data plan at that time. I don't know.. its tricky..

What will you buy? What kind of phone do you have? Do you like Epix or Bold?
I have never used Windows Mobile 6.1.

Ferdy, I've definitely experienced lock-ups where I have to take the battery out to restart my phone (the power button stops functioning). And twice now i've experienced my touchscreen stop working, and I have to restart my epix to get it back. I think im going to do a hard-reset soon because I admitedly have installed a TON of app (most of them were junk) on my phone which could certainly be messing things up.

Jin,
I recently bought Samsung Epix because of WM6.1, GPS, Wifi, over 64MB memory, touchscreen, camera. I had Asus 696 and had to struggle with <64MB memory (only ~30MB available) and it was not a phone. Though I do not use the camera often, I do missed it from my previous Clie when I made the switch to WM.
With Samsung, I'm struggling with the odd resolution 320×320 as application that do not support it either do not work or look ugly. But the price I pay for it justify the negative. So far, I have not have to take out the battery yet. There was a couple lock up where I can press the power button until it shutdown and I can turn it back on.
