WindowsMobile 6.1 CLASSIC for (PocketPCs w/o cell-pone features) has “Remote Desktop” which utilizes the TerminalServices for Win2000/XP/Vista/2003/2008 (which allows you to remotely use other computers like you sit in front of them, from Mobiles to Servers), but i'm disappointed that it's not in the WinMobile 6.1 Professional. does anybody know if there's a seperate CAB/installer to add it to the Epix ?

Hey,
I have a RDP Mobile client that should work for WM6.1 Pro (Samsung Epix).. I've been meaning to try it out and make a post about it but haven't had time over the holidays …
Here's a link to the CAB file – let me know if it works for you. Ill try to test it out over the next couple of days.
Download RDP Mobile CAB

LOL i found it myself too meanwhile, it does work actually, but taking over a desktop-session who's right now on it also, at the remote compter, makes the remote PC crash w. a BSOD.
I found a useful tool that allows that more than one person can be logged in at the same time at the remote machine. it essentially turns your windowsXP desktop PC into a “mini terminal server”
I use it a lot to admin/maintainance my home-LAN PCs *while* my family members are on them. heres the link http://www.kood.org/terminal-server-patch/
cheers

is your firewall set up w. rules to allow the RDP ports and the RDP-services ? also, if you use a router, make sure you forward the ports correctly.

atlana,
yup – it was all working a week or two ago and I havent made any changes to my router. In fact, If i turn off Remote Access and try to connect Ill get an error message saying that the computer is not accepting remote connection – when I turn Remote Access back on it gives me the weird behavior of not connecting but also not kicking back an error message. I can telnet to the machine on port 3389 and it will connect so i know my computer is listening on the correct port.

do you have service-pack 3 installed on your winXP ?
remember that you may need the newer patch from here http://www.kood.org/terminal-server-patch/ that allows “better” RDP under SP 3

I download the .cab to my device's My Documents folder but cant see it when using the Epix My Stuff file explorer. (I can, however, see it from my PC if I browse to the Epix device's MyDocs.) Very strange–Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
TA

TA – You cant see CAB files using “My Stuff” .. use “Start > Programs > Applications > File Explorer” instead

Here is the OFFICIAL remote desktop client for WinMo 6.1 that for some reason did not ship with the Epix
http://forum.xda-developers.co…..ostcount=2
It's available for every other WinMo 6.1 device.

theirs actually another remote control software that you can put on ur samsung epix, i have personally tried it and loved it.
The name of the software is called ” remote touch “
Its actually fairly simple to use, u can locat it here : http://www.freewarepocketpc.ne…..touch.html
You will find the download button near the bottom of the page, beofre the posts
What you do is, click the download button (clearly) then it will take you to another page, then click free download which is located at the top right of the page. It will then take you to another page where you will download the type of version that you want (of course pick the most current). I suggest downloading the zip instead of the MSI. Once you have downloaded the zip file, you will unzip it, and inside you will find a cab file for the Samsung Epix, touch remote server and a keyboard maker. (Naturally) transfer the cab. file to your samsung epix through active sync via usb cable. Then go to file explorer and install it and blah blah blah. Now the next thing to do is go back to the remote touch folder that you should still have on computer laying around somewhere, and run the remote touch server. Once you have done that, right click the icon of the remote touch server that is on the bottom right of your screen, in the little task manager thing or what ever it is, and click setup. It will then bring up a little page that should have port, password, and download directory. Port should already be fillied in, but you have to put in something for your password, as well as for your download directory. Now thats all done for the computer. Any way, once that is done, got back to ur samsung epix, fine the program on ur phone and run it, at first it will say that it could not connect, but just ignore that and click menu and then click setup. Then you fill in the IP address to ur modem and fill in the port, password, and download directory as well. once that is done, u can exit from it, and then activate ur wifi to connect to ur modem. Then, u open remote touch and it should automatically connect.
Their are also some videos on how to work remote touche's other niffty stuff. You can find them back in the download page that i listed above
