Figured it out....
Go into Start -> programs -> applications ->file explorer -> my device ->windows -> startup -> and delete the "smartskey.exe" item. Your phone will then not look for the program on start up.

I didn't care for this too much because it causes the volume buttons to be Page Down/Page up, which I found annoying and not nearly as useful as if it were just Up/Down. I also tried AEButton Plus and that was better. HOWEVER, AEButton, after the trial period, requires you to purchase for a small (and perhaps well worth it) fee. AEButton lets you adjust pretty much any button on the Epix and is very user friendly. Major problem with both is that it does not let you choose to revert to volume in media applications (Pandora, Media Player, etc). An option to set Apps for the buttons to revert back to when open would be an awesome addition (hint, hint programmers)!

Thanks for this site!

I agree with Fibrolan. Going line-by-line would be more useful to me. Also, it would be nice to disable the volume slider while on the today screen. I keep my phone on vibrate and I will ocasionally hit the slider by mistake and then I can't hear calls.

Hi,

I am using smartskey (volFix). I was wondering if there is something else another program that can go line by line as opposed to going page by page.

i don't know how to "hack" my phone so i'm hoping someone can make this extremly dumbed down for me. i want the volume key to move up/down one at a time (scroll), not page up and down (which is the default on volfix). can anyone walk me through this?

Hi Folks,

Has anyone gotten this to work with Outlook email? I have sync set up with my corporate Exchange/Outlook. SmartSKey works with some applications, but not reading Outlook emails (which is where I need it most). It does work in the email list (which is definitely helpful).

I'm using the default .ini file, and I don't see anything in there or the help file that sounds like it would affect things.

???
