rlToday is a free Today screen plug-in that aids in the creation of light-weight, simple themes for the Samsung Epix.
Themes on MySamsungEpix.com that require rlToday will be marked as such and automatically install the theme files in the correct directories. If you are using a rlToday theme from some place other than MySamsungEpix.com, you will have to copy the theme folder to /Program Files/rlToday/ on your Samsung Epix to install the theme.
If you’re new to rlToday, follow the steps to activate the rlToday plug-in:
- You must install rlToday on your Samsung Epix (Device) and not on your Memory Card.
- Start > Settings > Today > Items tab
- Uncheck everything except for “rlToday”
- Select “rlToday” and press the “Options” button
- General tab > select the theme you would like to use (You must have already install at least one rlToday theme)
- Time tab > set your local Time and Location
- Apps > Add/Edit/Delete the application shortcuts that will show up on the selected rlToday Theme
- Select an application entry and press the “Edit” button
- You can update the Name, Path to Application and set a Custom Icon as desired to the selected application.
- Calendar tab > Set weekday abbreviations
- Click “OK”
Please note that most rlToday themes (including the examples in the above image) are not created for the Samsung Epix’s 320 x 320px screen (they are rectangular, not square), so they won’t work on the Epix.

i wish i could customize the default skin, like how many icon i want out, what’s coming up on my calendar…
also, the link to more rltoday themes don’t work, so i can’t try out other themes

AWESOME!!! Found a site with tons of rlToday skins too! There’s one designed specifically for the Epix that has the OSX Leopard skin. I don’t know if others from the site will work (I haven’t tried any others yet) but it’s nice to know that I can try something besides the crappy Samsung today screen and the WM6 today screen. Good thing to note is that this must be installed on the phone and not the memory card or RLToday will not work.

Well i managed to get rlToday installed ok, installed a few themes via the cab file in the zip. i do have a question tho. There are some themes on that site were its just a bunch of pix like .BMP files. Ive been looking for a “flawless” iphone skin, after 2 hrs of searching i finally found one i liked, but it diddnt have a cab file or an installer. Just was a file full of pictures with all the icons with them nothing maped, so i started looking at more of the skins and alot of them are like that, so i must be doing something the wrong way. Just not really sure how to extract a file called “iphone theme” full of .BMP images to a theme lol. No zip no .CAB nothing. Anyone got any ideas/walkthrus?? Anything would help.
